WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED TUEDAY 8/18/2009

An additional prize to the top 3 winners of the contest -- Dave Basulto, one of our judges as just thrown in three FREE scholarships for Film School On Demand -- this correspondence course concentrates on the business aspect of getting your feature film made and released. It's a $300.00.

I am taking it myself and have been incredibly impressed with the level of information. Here's the best part; at the end of the course you will be given to the opportunity to pitch your movie to a company distribution company. You'll get all the forms you would need for options, contracts etc.

10 week course on the process of making and selling your first film. Streaming video class once per week. Students can also download a .mov file. Course includes:

4. Finance – How do I find money? What are standard deals?

6. Production – This has a life of its own! How do I control it?

For those of you who submitted, GREAT JOB!!!!!!

The quality of the entries exceeded our expectations. Look for information on judging and winners on at this group and at www.facebook.com/ikanseeit.  Also, if you have a vimeo account, which is free by the way, you can vote for your favorite video and make comments.

The next step is the judging and then the awarding of prizes.  The top ten submissions will go to our panel of judges who will rank them 1 through 3.  We will announce the winners August 10, 2009.  Thanks again to everyone who submitted, and look for more information soon.

For the initial run of the competition, entries will be accepted until Midnight on August 1, 2009.  At that time, a panel of industry professionals will judge the entries and the final winners will be announced on August 15, 2009.  The criteria for judging will be; creativity, adherence to the theme and the effective placement of an ikan product or the ikan name.  For logos, product pictures and more general information regarding the ikan product line, you may visit www.ikancorp.com.     

The process for entry into the contest is simple and FREE of charge to participants.   Entering is as simple as…

 
    Make your video, featuring either the Ikan name or an Ikan product in a positive manner along the theme of “I wish I had an Ikan.”
    Check out one we made for kicks.

 

Join the ikan Vimeo group and upload your video. (if you do not already have a Vimeo account, creating one is fast, easy and free).

 
 
    Fill out and send in the Release Form, through email, US Postal Service or fax.
    Entries are accepted until Midnight on August 1, 2009.
